Visitors, businessmen, investors and expats

The Thai Elite Visa is a long-term visa given to the Thailand Privilege Card members. It is considered as a Tourist Visa allowing residency and benefits for a period of 5, 10 or 20 years depending on the chosen package.

The Thai Elite Visa is a 5-years renewable multiple entry visa with an extendable 1-year length of stay per each entry. 

Holders can have an uninterrupted stay in the Kingdom and have the benefit of exclusive airports, immigration, leisure and business privileges. 

Requirements

  • Holder of a foreign passport
  • Being allowed to stay in Thailand in accordance with the immigration laws, which means the applicant has no overstay record in Thailand
  • No age limit is required for this program apart from the Elite Ultimate Privilege which requires to be at least 20 years old
  • Not having been sentenced by a judgment to imprisonment in any countries except for an offense committed to negligence
  • Not having been adjudicated bankrupt
  • Not having been declared as a person of unsound mind, incompetence, or quasi-incompetence

Tourists for a maximum stay of 90 days

The Tourist Visa is initially a 60 days visa that can either be a multiple or single entry and can be extended up for another 30 days at a Thai Immigration Office once you are in the Kingdom.

To extend longer than 30 days, you can convert the visa to a Non-Immigrant Visa which will require you to go to a nearby country.

Requirements

  • Passport or travel document with a validity not less than 6 months
  • Visa application form (filled out)
  • One(1) recent 4x6cm. photograph of the applicant
  • Round-trip air ticket or e-ticket (paid in full)
  • Proof of financial means (20,000 baht per person/40,000 baht per family)
  • Proof of Hotel or private accommodation

Long stays, 90 days renewable

The Non-immigrant visa is a single entry visa to Thailand valid for 90 days. It can be extended  by doing a visa run going to the border or nearby city or country. From this visa, obtaining a work permit and opening a thai bank account is possible.

Requirements

  • A passport with at least 6-month validity from the date of your intended arrival in Thailand.
  • An invitation or confirmation letter to clarify the purpose of travel issued by the concerned organization.
  • Additional supporting document requested by the Royal Thai embassy or consulate.
  • Proof of financial funds and travel itinerary.
  • Embassy fee.

Spouse of a Thai citizen, parent of a Thai child and foreigner married to another foreigner currently in possession of a long stay visa

This visa is initially issued for 90 days, but can be extended in Thailand for up to one year at a time. It’s known as the Non-Immigrant O Visa. It can be extended for a period up to one year at a Thai Immigration Office. 

Requirements

1. Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.

2. Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.

3. Financial evidence (e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party).

4. Proof of relationship to a family in Thailand.

Foreigners over 50 years of age seeking to retire in Thailand

The Retirement Visa is a long-term visa that allows to stay for one year or five years in Thailand depending on the visa type and is renewable when the period of stay ends for an unlimited number of years without leaving the country. You must be at least 50 years old to be eligible.

This Visa is officially known as a Non-Immigrant O Long Stay Visa.

Requirements

  • Passport with validity not less than 6 months.
  • Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
  • Financial evidence : a guarantee letter from the bank and a copy of bank statement showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 800,000 THB or an income certificate with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 THB or a deposit account plus a monthly income in total not less than 80,000 THB.
  • Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality. The certificate should be valid not more than three months and should be notarized by notary organs or the applicant’s diplomatic or consular mission.
  • Medical certificate from the country where the applicants apply stating that applicants don’t have any prohibited diseases as follows; Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, drug addiction, third stage of Syphilis. The medical certificate must be issued no longer than 3 months prior to the date of submission.

Foreigners who intend to conduct a business or working

The business Visa, also known as Non-Immigrant Business Visa can be applied before coming to Thailand and allows you a 90 days stay. From this type of visa you can get a work permit and open a bank account. The Non-Immigrant Business Visa is in combination with a Thai work permit and can be extended for a period up to one year at a Thai Immigration Office.

Requirements

  • Passport or travel document with at least 6-month validity from the planned date of arrival in Thailand.
  • Completed visa application form.
  • Passport-size photo (4 x 6 CM) taken within the last 6 months.
  • Evidence of adequate finance (20,000 Baht per person and 40,000 Baht per family).
  • Letter from the applicant’s company which clearly indicates your position at the company, the length of your employment, your annual salary, and the purpose of your planned visit(s) to Thailand.
  • In the case of being self-employed you will need to give proof of your financial status.

Foreigners who intend to work as volunteers in a charitable organization in Thailand

The Volunteer Visa, also known as Non-Immigrant O Visa allows visitors to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 90 days and can be extended at a Thai Immigration Office with the required documents.

Requirements

  • Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months.
  • Photograph of the applicant, taken within the past six months.
  • Letter confirming voluntary work signed by authorized person together with a copy of ID card or passport of the sign.
  • Registration of NGO/Charity/Association.

Foreigners who intend to study

The Education Visa is specially designed for foreigners who intend to study in Thailand. The period of stay in the Kingdom should not not exceed 90 days but can be extended at a Thai Immigration Office with the required documents.

It involves a minimum of 15 hours class per week or 200 hours during the 90 days period.
